We are based in Invercargill, a city in the Southland region. European settlers first obtained land here in 1853, and the settlement was primarily Scottish, with the name being derived from the Scottish Gaelic word ‘inbhir’, which means ‘river’s mouth’. The discovery of gold in the 1860s drove rapid expansion, and dairy farming became the prime agriculture of the region in the 1880s.
